Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us.

Effective October 12, 2026

This website, justin4thornton.com, is operated by the Committee to Elect Justin Martinez (“the campaign,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect through the site, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell personal information, and we never will.

Information you give us

When you fill out the sign-up form, we collect the information you enter: your email address and zip code (required), your first and last name (optional), and which kinds of updates you want (campaign news, volunteer opportunities, event invitations).

If you email the campaign, we keep your message and address so we can reply.

Information collected automatically

To block spam and automated abuse of the sign-up form, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person. Turnstile may process technical information about your browser and device under Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Our sign-up service applies rate limits using a one-way, salted hash of your network address. The hash cannot be reversed to recover your address and expires automatically after a short time.

Like most websites, our hosting and content delivery providers keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps) for security and troubleshooting. We do not currently use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies on this site.

How we use your information

  • To send you the updates you asked for: campaign news, volunteer opportunities, and event invitations.
  • To connect volunteers with opportunities near them (that is why we ask for a zip code).
  • To respond when you contact us.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
  • To comply with campaign finance and other legal requirements.

How we share information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers that help us run the campaign and this site, such as Amazon Web Services (hosting), Google (our sign-up list is stored in Google Sheets), and Cloudflare (form protection). They may use your information only to provide services to us.
  • Authorities when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of the campaign or others.

Donations are processed by ActBlue on its own website under ActBlue’s privacy policy. Colorado law requires campaigns to report certain information about contributors, which becomes public record.

Your choices

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, email justin4thornton@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls, to protect your information. We keep sign-up information for the duration of the campaign and as long as needed to meet legal obligations, then delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
